ACORN ART STUDIO: Art In The Garden: Summer Camps!

We're so excited to offer two special Seeds of Creativity visual art and garden camps this July and August.

Seeds of Creativity Camps are about enjoying and nurturing the garden, making all kinds of beautiful art and building skills together. Kids will be in the art studio and the back garden this summer creating and exploring new art techniques and mediums through individual and group multi-media projects. Every Artist-Camper will take home beautiful artwork and create a personal sketchbook for recording, planning and drawing throughout the week.

Each Seeds of Creativity camp week offers a distinct theme and unique projects and experiences. Guest teachers will be visiting Acorn Studio and sharing their special talents and knowledge each day. Artist-Gardeners will be tasting and making delicious food and celebrating Friday with a homemade pizza lunch. Every day will include fun outdoor time, games and a community walk.

CURIOUS GARDEN

Exploring : Garden mysteries. Garden planning and Planting. Garbage helps our garden grow!
Artists will experiment with different art techniques this week, hear great stories and make a mural. This week includes :

Growing Vegetable Soup! Making our Sketchbooks and Sketching a Garden Plan
Planting seeds. Compost and Earthworms! String painting
What's the Buzz about Bees? Games and picnic in the Rawlinson field.
We're making a bean pole tent! Jack and the Beanstalk
We're making a salad and pizza lunch for ourselves! Vegetable Printing Mural

AUGUST 8 - 12

CITY JUNGLE

Exploring : Urban gardens. Rainbows and colour theory. Growing our own food. Water!
Artists will experiment with different art techniques this week, hear great stories and make a mural. This week includes :

Planting a rainbow! Making our Sketchbooks and exploring Colours
Drawing plants. How does our garden grow? Seedlings
Insect Art. Games and picnic in the Rawlinson field.
Rainbarrels. Bulding a Fountain and Painting Stone Creatures.
We're making a pizza lunch today! City Mural

All art materials included. Every child will receive a sketchbook.

Please bring a packed lunch each day except Friday. Additonal snacks and refreshments will be provided every day.
Growing as artists. Inspired by nature. Exploring our surroundings through art and our senses.
